Black

oh my goodness I'm dying over how cute these little girls are.

a few things I learned from this shoot:

bringing balloons and suckers to every shoot is a must.  okay, maybe not, but I won't ever go to another shoot without food, that's for SURE.  empty stomachs + husbands who would rather gouge their eyeballs out than take a family picture = awful.

I MUST HAVE A 5D Mark ii.  must.  so I'll start saving now and I'll have enough by the time I retire.

I wish every client would just turn their back to me, shove their nose against the wall, and refuse to turn around when they've had enough.  so much easier to tell we're done when they just plain refuse to function anymore.

I am not below lowering my values and standards for the happiness of a client (ie shoving peeps in their face and telling them to eat! eat! eat!)  oh the shame!

June's birth

I can't believe its been almost one year since this beautiful event!  it was my VERY FIRST photo shoot and I had no idea what I was doing.  and yet, this is my most favorite shoot, even today. Birth photography is so raw, so real.  no one cares that I'm there, no one keeps checking the mirror and I don't tell anyone that a hair is out of place or a shirt needs to be tucked in.  and every moment is a realtime memory of an event that can't ever be relived.

in honor of you, June.
