Janica
oh my gosh I know its totally weird that I didn't put up pictures of her face. I figured since I used her name I could at least protect part of her identity. and isn't her pregnant belly just beautiful?!
Janica is the most patient person on the planet. we took these pictures back in October and I swore I sent them off to her but then got an email last week wondering what in the WORLD was going on. except her email was so sweet that she never said anything like that.
but seriously, I'm so glad she reminded me of these. I think they're breathtaking. and it has nothing to do with me, that's for sure.

Yoder
LOVE this family. love love love love love them. and I'd say that for a last-minute-throw-together-an-outfit-and-get-outside shoot they look pretty stinking well coordinated! Jo Anna knows how to get things done! Here are a few teasers that are hardly edited. I'll update them as they come! Thanks Yoders, for letting me take pictures of you in all your gorgeousness!

J&S (&B)
oh my gosh this little girl. she was nonstop the whole shoot and so. much. fun. to capture (when she wasn't just a blur on the screen!) and her mom is one of my favorite yoga friends. we taught the most AMAZING (if I may say so myself) restorative yoga class together for our teacher certification.
ohhhh what I would give for a restorative class at this very moment.

what I fight for
my family took a pretty serious blow this past week during Thanksgiving. a series of terrible choices that exploded leaving all of us a little (okay A-LOT) heartbroken. its caused some serious re-evaluation of our lives, our choices, our future and what we want for our family. I went to church feeling downtrodden and spiritually weak. and then we had a lesson on this talk from conference. and then I came across this quote whilst my husband watched his four hundredth Lord of the Rings marathon.
this little man and his future siblings are what I fight for.
*if you want to kick your Christmas spirit into overdrive, how about watching this on Sunday evening?*

R&N
I love these kidds. so much. so so much. so much that I could just steal them all and raise them as my own. except that would make weekly family dinners awkward.
oh my gosh I'm so creepy.
maybe I should mention that this was my very first shoot with a family of seven. or any family larger than three, really. so I knew it would be hard to get all eyes on me all at the same time, but I underestimated how quick I would have to be to catch those rare moments! thanks Nat, for letting me capture your family! I promise I won't really steal them.
but I want to.
can you blame me?
cross my heart I did absolutely ZERO editing on those eyeballs. or any of the others (look at those piercing blue eyes on mom with her baby!). this family and their stunning beauty is REEdiculous.
probably the best action sequence of all time...
for this shoot I rented my dream lens, and until the day I got it it was only my dream lens because other people said it was great. but now I know my life will not be complete without it.
I sure hope Santa makes a 24-105 4.0 in his workshop because if he doesn't I don't think that even with a completely miserable incomplete life I could ever fork out 3 grand for a piece of glass. no matter how amazingly beautiful it is.
